From 2nd to 7th November, Mr Jacques MURINDA (OLE Rwanda Executive Director) attended OLEs centers general assembly in Nepal.
Open Learning Exchange Rwanda (OLE Rwanda) attended the first General Assembly of Open Learning Exchange Centers in Kathmandu from 2nd to 7th November 2009. Participants also visited Schools using One laptop per child(OLPC) tools in thier daily learning piloted by OLE Nepal.
The general assembly was organized by Open Learning Exchange International (OLE International) and hosted by Open Learning Exchange Nepal (OLE Nepal). Participants included officials from the Ministry of Education/ Nepal and other Countries. Among them were Lawa Dev Awasthi (Joint Secretary of Nepal’s Ministry of Education); Haribol Khanal (Executive Director of Nepal’s Curriculum Development Center); Prativa Pandey (Chairperson of the Board of Directors of OLE Nepal and Chair of the opening session); Richard Rowe (Founder and CEO of OLE International) and members of his team; Kedar Bhakta Mathema (Former Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University and the Chief of the advisory board of OLE Nepal); Rabi Karmacharya (Executive Director of OLE Nepal), Murinda Jacques (Executive Director OLE Rwanda), Massiel COHEN ( Executive Director OLE Dominican Republic), Yama Polskonka ( Executive Director OLE Bolivia) and representatives from different countries in Europe, Latin America, and North America. Partners’ organizations such as Rishi Valley Institute for Educational Research (RIVER), E-learning for kids and World Food Programme (WFP) also attended.
